Use New Technologies to Influence Your Customers
Buying Decisions
If you haven't been paying much attention to what's been happening in
the world of signage, you’re in for a pleasant surprise, and perhaps
a bit of a shock. There is a host of new technologies that will make it
easier than ever to influence your customers’ buying decisions and
increase sales, particularly at the point of purchase. But, because there
are so many alternatives, it's more important than ever to choose carefully.
How to Attract Attention to Generate Traffic
and Sales
It's important to get your customers' attention, to communicate with them,
but when you do, make sure you're moving them toward making a buying decision
and not just amusing them for a few moments. Good signage generates traffic
and sales by functioning as a good salesperson would: communicating the
benefits of your products or services, answering customers' questions,
helping them find what they want, and making sure customers are aware
of important price points.
Signage that's Easy to Update
Some of the latest advances in dynamic digital
signage can be literally dazzling. But be sure that whatever you choose
has more than just "Wow" factor. It should be flexible and easier
to update than an old system of swapping physical signs and tags. And
be sure to ask about maintenance costs.
Find Out Which Technologies Are the Most Effective
One of the best ways to get acquainted with what's out there these days
is to see the technology firsthand, not only as a customer might, but
also from a behind-the-scenes perspective. Look for providers of the technology
who offer support to help you make it work in your particular environment.
If you visit trade shows, take your best characterization of your business
strategy. It will make the search much more productive and help keep you
from being distracted by some of the things you'll see which are very
impressive, but which won’t really fit your needs.
